Autorecycling Kempers joins PreZero: a new chapter begins
After more than 60 years as a family-run business, Autorecycling Kempers is entering a new chapter. PreZero is acquiring 100 percent of the company’s shares. Together, we plan to develop our Meppen site further and expand our expertise in professional vehicle recycling and the circular automotive economy.
What is changing—and what is staying the same?
With the change of ownership, Autorecycling Kempers becomes part of the PreZero Group. Continuity remains important for our employees, customers and business partners: Ayton Kempers will remain Managing Director and will actively help shape the company’s next steps. Peter Kempers is stepping back from operational responsibilities. He has played a key role in shaping and developing the family business over many years.
Our work in Meppen and our team’s experience will continue to be the foundation of the business. The acquisition gives us the opportunity to build on what has worked well and make use of new opportunities within a larger group.
Meppen is set to grow into a centre of expertise
The Meppen site is intended to play a central role in the future and to develop into a centre of expertise for professional vehicle recycling and the circular automotive economy. The aim is to bring vehicle dismantling, the reuse of original used parts, the recovery of raw materials and the safe handling of high-voltage batteries closer together.
We process up to 10,000 vehicles each year across our site of more than 35,000 square metres. Alongside professional dismantling and recycling, we focus on reusing inspected original parts and recovering valuable materials.
Expertise for the vehicles of today and tomorrow
The demands on the automotive industry are changing. Electric vehicles, high-voltage systems and new requirements for recovering raw materials are becoming an increasingly important part of the work. Kempers has continued to expand its expertise in these areas in recent years. This includes handling test, prototype and special vehicles, as well as safely dismantling high-voltage batteries.
As part of PreZero, we can connect this practical experience more closely with the group’s structures and recycling expertise. This creates opportunities to expand our existing services for vehicle manufacturers and other automotive partners, and to develop new areas of business.
Moving into the future together
More than six decades of company history remain part of Kempers. At the same time, a new chapter is beginning—with continuity in management, a clear focus on the future of our Meppen site and new opportunities for the circular automotive economy.
Proven experience. New opportunities. A clear future for Meppen.
